Career Technical Education
Introduction
Education research shows that Career Technical Education (CTE) courses provides multiple benefits as students prepare for college and career.
- CTE students improve their high school grade point averages at a greater rate than comparison students
- CTE students earn higher wages than comparison group peers.
- CTE students have more success in securing raises and promotions on the job.
- CTE students prefer CTE classes over other subjects.

Alameda High School currently provides five CTE pathways:
- Digital Filmmaking
- Multimedia
- Computer Science
- Sports Medicine
- Biotechnology
Students can choose to enroll as early as 9th grade.
