CSU Degree Finder

• The CSU requires a minimum 15-unit pattern of courses for admission as a first-time freshman. Each unit is equal to a year of study in a subject area.
• A grade of C or better is required for each course you use to meet any subject requirement.
• There are career and technical education (CTE) courses that can be used to meet any of the subject area requirements listed above. 

The application period for CSU's is October 1 - December 1, 2022

• A CSU campus may choose to continue to accept applications after November 30 on a space-available basis. Find out if a school you are interested in has extended deadline.
• Filing your application during the initial filing period is strongly encouraged for all applicants. There is no guarantee your campus of choice will extend their 
• Filing deadlines for impacted majors are not extended in this process

2. To qualify for a fee waiver - you will need annual income information from your parents
3. Your Social Security #
4. The CSU application does not require an essay or personal statement.
5. CSUs also do not require letters of recommendation. 
6. CSUs take priority admissions for students living in their local attendance zone.  The local attendance zone for AHS students is SF State & Cal State East Bay.
7. Finish one application completely and all that data will re-populate itself into all other CSU Applications!

• You can apply for a fee waiver request at the end of your application.  Once you hit "submit" it they will tell you immediately if you qualify or not. If you qualify, you can apply to four CSUs for free.

Apply to a CSU

• The preferred method for submitting the CSU application is online through the application you complete on Cal State Apply.
• Once you reach the "review  your information" section, and confirm that you want to send your application it is automatically routed to the admissions office.
• Paper applications must be sent to the admission office at the campus(es) to which you are applying. The application booklet contains the campus mailing addresses.

• Print out a confirmation receipt for your records
• Check your Email!!  Schools will communicate with you via email.  If they have a question about your application or they want you to send your score reports they will send you an email.  You should check your email weekly.
• The first thing a CSU is going to ask you is to send you SAT or ACT score reports.  The SAT code for all CSUs is 3594. ACT does not have one code for all of the CSUs; you must send your scores to each CSU to which you applied.
• Wait for their decision, and then send your transcript & score reports

The EOP - Educational Opportunity Program -   offers scholarship opportunities as well as academic support and counseling.  It is a program for historically low-income and educationally disadvantaged students, many of whom are first in their family to attend college.   I
